Through its ministry teams, First Presbyterian Church Bradenton encourages members to use their gifts to serve God, each other and our community. Our ministries reflect our belief in Jesus Christ who has modeled how we are to be His faithful witness, His hands and feet to show compassion and mercy, and His disciples to minister to one another. Ministry Teams ~
Christian Education – Our active Sunday School Department, nursery through senior adult, Mid and Senior High programs, Wed. night friends (K-5) and Adult Bible Study provide weekly opportunities for Christian growth. Worship & Music – First Presbyterian Church professes and proclaims Jesus Christ as the Way, the Truth and the Life. Strong biblically based teaching and preaching reflect our reliance on the infallible Word of God as the standard for Christian living. Our two worship services, one traditional/one blended style are supported by an outstanding music ministry. The Chancel Choir, Chancel Handbells and Jubilee Singers (praise) grace our worship. Presbyterian Women - In 1988, Women of the Church and United Presbyterian Women united to form one organization - Presbyterian Women - committed to the work of Christ. Presbyterian Women put this commitment into words with the PW Purpose Statement. Through the Purpose, women in PW were invited to closer connections with their sisters in the newly merged Presbyterian Church (U.S.A). The purpose continues to guide the organization today. Prayer and Care Ministries – The congregation’s joys and concerns are lifted up through our weekly Prayer Fellowship and Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Hospital, nursing home and home bound visits are made by our Pastor of Visitation, Deacons and Visitation Task Force members. The Stephen’s Ministry Team is available for Christian counseling one on one. Please contact Sandy Gravlee, Deacon.
Communications – Print and digital communication including our website, audio/visual systems, newsletter, bulletins, brochures and newspaper ads is the focus of this ministry. Please contact Sandy Garrison, Chair.
Facilities – Keeping our buildings and campus in exceptionally good condition is the goal of this team. Please contact Clay Johnson, Chair.
Fellowship – We support and encourage the other ministry teams by fostering warm and friendly opportunities for the congregation to interact with each other over coffee and meals. Please contact Dick Moore, Chair.
